Preacucernici Părinți,
Onorați profesori și iubiți frați în Cristos,
Cu aleasă bucurie și profundă recunoștință adresăm acest mesaj Episcopiei Greco-Catolice de Prešov și Facultății de Teologie Greco-Catolică din cadrul Universității din Prešov, exprimând prețuirea noastră sinceră pentru legăturile de comuniune, colaborare și prietenie pe care Bisericile și instituțiile noastre le-au cultivat de-a lungul timpului.
Bisericile noastre surori, unite în aceeași credință catolică și păstrătoare fidele ale tradiției răsăritene, au împărtășit nu doar bogăția spirituală a patrimoniului bizantin, ci și momente istorice de mare încercare. În perioada regimurilor totalitare comuniste, atât Biserica Greco-Catolică din România, cât și cea din Slovacia au cunoscut persecuția, suferința și martiriul. Păstrăm cu evlavie memoria episcopilor și mărturisitorilor credinței care, prin jertfa lor, au devenit lumină și model pentru generațiile următoare, mulți dintre ei fiind astăzi cinstiți în rândul sfinților și fericiților Bisericii Catolice.
În acest spirit al comuniunii prin cruce și mărturie, ne revin în minte cuvintele memorabile rostite de Sanctitatea Sa Papa Francisc la Prešov, atunci când afirma că „adevărata putere a Bisericii nu se manifestă prin triumfalism, ci prin iubirea smerită și fidelitatea față de Cristos răstignit”.
Privim cu recunoștință și la excelenta colaborare instituțională dezvoltată în ultimele două decenii între Facultatea de Teologie Greco-Catolică din Oradea și Facultatea de Teologie Greco-Catolică din Prešov, precum și între Seminariile teologice ale eparhiilor noastre. Aceste relații academice au contribuit în mod semnificativ la formarea intelectuală și spirituală a multor tineri teologi și viitori slujitori ai Bisericii.
Dorim să amintim cu deosebită apreciere și legăturile academice care s-au consolidat de-a lungul anilor între instituțiile noastre teologice, inclusiv prin formarea doctorală a vicarului cu preoții al Episcopiei Greco-Catolice de Oradea, pr. Antoniu Chifor, în cadrul prestigioasei Facultăți de Teologie Greco-Catolică din Prešov, fapt care rămâne o expresie vie a comuniunii și colaborării dintre Bisericile noastre.
De asemenea, ne amintim cu bucurie de vizitele reciproce ale protopopilor, preoților și seminariștilor din eparhiile noastre, întâlniri care au întărit comuniunea fraternă și au contribuit la o mai bună cunoaștere reciprocă, la schimbul de experiență pastorală și la consolidarea prieteniei dintre credincioșii noștri.
Așa cum spunea Sfântul Părinte la Prešov, „mărturisitorii dau naștere altor mărturisitori”, iar credința se transmite prin fidelitatea oamenilor simpli, prin iubire smerită și prin puterea exemplului.
Ne rugăm Bunului Dumnezeu să binecuvânteze în continuare această frumoasă colaborare dintre Episcopia Greco-Catolică de Oradea și Episcopia Greco-Catolică de Prešov, precum și dintre instituțiile noastre teologice, spre mărturia credinței, slujirea Bisericii și binele sufletesc al poporului lui Dumnezeu.
Vă încredințăm ocrotirii Maicii Domnului și mijlocirii sfinților noștri episcopi martiri și vă transmitem întreaga noastră apreciere, comuniune și dragoste frățească în Cristos.

Dears Professors, and beloved Brothers in Christ,
With profound joy and heartfelt gratitude, we address this message to the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Prešov and to the Greek Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Prešov, expressing our sincere appreciation for the bonds of communion, collaboration, and friendship that our Churches and institutions have cultivated throughout the years.
Our sister Churches, united in the same Catholic faith and faithful custodians of the Eastern Christian tradition, have shared not only the spiritual richness of the Byzantine heritage, but also moments of great historical trial. During the years of the communist totalitarian regimes, both the Romanian and the Slovak Greek Catholic Churches endured persecution, suffering, and martyrdom. With reverence, we preserve the memory of those bishops and confessors of the faith who, through their sacrifice, became a light and an example for future generations, many of whom are today venerated among the saints and blesseds of the Catholic Church.
In this spirit of communion through the Cross and witness, we recall the memorable words spoken by His Holiness Pope Francis in Prešov, when he affirmed that “the true power of the Church is manifested not through triumphalism, but through humble love and fidelity to Christ crucified.”
We also look with gratitude upon the excellent institutional collaboration that has developed over the past two decades between the Greek Catholic Faculty of Theology in Oradea and the Greek Catholic Faculty of Theology in Prešov, as well as between the theological seminaries of our eparchies. These academic relationships have contributed significantly to the intellectual and spiritual formation of many young theologians and future servants of the Church.
We wish to acknowledge with particular appreciation the academic ties that have grown stronger over the years between our theological institutions, including through the doctoral formation of the Vicar for Clergy of the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Oradea, Fr. Antoniu Chifor, at the prestigious Greek Catholic Faculty of Theology in Prešov, a fact that remains a living expression of the communion and collaboration between our Churches.
We likewise remember with joy the reciprocal visits of archpriests, priests, and seminarians from our eparchies, encounters that have strengthened our fraternal communion and contributed to a deeper mutual understanding, to the exchange of pastoral experience, and to the strengthening of friendship among our faithful.
As the Holy Father said in Prešov, “witnesses give rise to other witnesses,” and faith is transmitted through the fidelity of humble people, through humble love, and through the power of example.
We pray that the Good Lord may continue to bless this beautiful collaboration between the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Oradea and the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Prešov, as well as between our theological institutions, for the witness of faith, the service of the Church, and the spiritual good of the People of God.
Entrusting you to the protection of the Mother of God and to the intercession of our holy martyr bishops, we extend to you our deepest esteem, communion, and fraternal love in Christ.
